Charleston Fashion Week Highlights

This past week, it was an absolute pleasure and honor to participate in Charleston's annual Fashion Week - I had the wonderful opportunity to sell my earrings as a featured designer in the StyleMakers Lounge, hosted by the wonderful Maris DeHart! It's always such a blast at CFW; catching up, sharing laughs, and enjoying a cocktail (or two) with some of Charleston's most creative, inspiring designers and retailers. Here are some of my favorite photos from throughout the week:

Swoon! How adorable are my earrings on Rachel Roy's daughter, featured on the Charleston Fashion Week Instagram this past Saturday! So cool to have such a huge fashion industry influence spend some quality time in Charleston.

Here's the lovely Anna Mathias strutting a Maris De Hart look for CFW, plus a pair of Hart earrings. Go Go Gold with Hart to add the perfect amount of shimmer to any pretty pastel piece for spring.

Andrea, the Charleston Shop Curator, has always been such a big supporter and dear friend of mine! Loved getting to hang with her and other Charleston fashion gurus at the StyleMakers Lounge all throughout CFW. Check out Andrea's feature article covering Maris De Hart's involvement throughout Charleston Fashion Week here

Here's English Alexander, The Style Gangster on Instagram. Loving all the metallics in this look! My Champagne Shimmers are the perfect finishing accessory for that sparkling bronze sequin jacket and sunnies.

The true stars of CFW! The Real Barbies of Charleston made an appearance at the Maris DeHart StyleMakers Lounge last week.

It's safe to say that until next year, I'll be on the edge of my seat waiting for yet another perfect Charleston Fashion Week. I hope you're looking forward to it as much as I am!

Hart Tassel Earrings Make the Ultimate Festival Outfit

Festival season. The one time of year where fashion and music collide in the dreamiest of ways. For those of you that have been able to make your way out to a festival like Coachella or Governor's Ball, you know it's such a powerful experience to have everyone around you sharing such a positive, radiant and most of all fun vibe. This season, I'll be punching up my look with a fresh pair of tassels from my new Festival Collection. They're hot off the press and waiting to add that effortless, glowing pop of color to your festival attire.

One of my favorite things about my tassel earrings is their versatility. They fit the boho-babe vibe that festivals are known for, but they can also look chic with more streamlined looks. My earrings allow women of all tastes to add bright, colorful personality to their outfit that is both playful and sophisticated.

This balance between boho and cool-chic was inspired by my forever muse, Jane Birkin. She's the ultimate 60's/70's style icon, and I wonderered what a young Jane would have worn to Coachella. The answer is somewhere between iridescence and boldness.

I think Jane would have worn this look to a Coachella pool party:)

Starting in the spring and continuing on throughout the summer, festival season has proved itself to be a perfect combination of long days full of blue skies, scorching sun rays and the occasional rain shower. Have no fear! Hart earrings are designed to take on a little wear and tear. The Festival Collection features many Darlings, which are similar to the Fatties except slimmer with more shimmer! While not invincible, they can hold up against a big night out of being tossed into handbags and smushed in a sweaty concert crowd.

The Neon Pink Fatties are my favorite pair from the Festival Collection. They'll look gorgeous against a sun-kissed tan this summer!

Next week, I'll be making my way down to Miami for Ultra Music Festival! I can't wait to share my photos and stories with you all, and you know I'll be sporting a pair of earrings from the Festival Collection! Keep an eye out on my Instagram for a full update throughout the weekend.

P.S. - A pair of Festival Collection earrings aren't the only statement piece by Hart that'll turn heads at Coachella this spring...take a look at what Vogue had to say about my Asian rooted embroidered jackets here.

Hart on Film: BTS of Festival Collection photoshoot

One of my favorite parts of running my own brand is producing lookbook shoots. It's a LOT of work -- booking models, set locations, photographers, hair + makeup artists to storyboarding, styling looks, designing props. But, after a stressful few weeks of planning, organizing and brainstorming, everything just all seems to come together in a magical for 3-4 hours.

Here's a photo diary of our lookbook shoot for the Festival Collection. I shot this on film for the new 'Hart on Film' series -- using Kodak disposable cameras.

Sourcing vintage pieces in Dallas!

I love styling my lookbooks with vintage pieces tops, so I went to my favorite city for vintage: Dallas! As my guide, I follow Dallas native and major fashion blogger Jane Aldridge's guides to Dallas shopping  (see her Warby Parker guide and her ebay vintage guide here on her blog Sea of Shoes) . She has so many great tips and I've always scored big at her favorite vintage stores.

After a successful sourcing trip in Dallas, next stop was freezing cold New York City in February! Call time was bright and early at 5am. We started shooting before the sun came up. It was a beautiful, clear morning with snow on the rooftops, which started to slowly melt under the bright morning sun.

We used glitter confetti as a prop. Although it was a mess, it matched her vintage sequin top and shimmery earrings to perfection!

After the shoot, my boyfriend and I had a double date at the Spotted Pig with my photographer Roland Ellis and his wife Melissa Watson Ellis,  who is one my dearest, super talented friends. She's an incredible designer and pattern maker for Palmer Pletsch.  We ended up at the Rusty Knot and Boom Boom Room for tiki drinks and champagne! Perfect wrap party.
